The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mr. Frank Buttram, age 80, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Born in Polk County, TN, he was the son of the late O.L. and Nancy Bailey Buttram. He was a long time member of the Friendship #3 Baptist Church. Mr. Buttram worked as a Pipe fitter at the Tennessee Chemical Company until 1967. He also drove a school bus for the Fannin County School system. He operated along with his late wife, Pauline Queen Buttram, the Epworth General Store for a number of years. Mr. Buttram was also preceded in death by a brother, Lee Ross Buttram. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Winston F. and Janet Buttram of Gainesville, GA and Calvin L. Buttram of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Waldo Davis of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Joe Lynn Buttram of Tullahoma, TN; sister, Mae Ruth Buttram Hensley of Blue Ridge; sister-in-law, Bessie Buttram of Blue Ridge, grandchildren, Sandi Buttram, Erica Davis, Daniel Davis, and Christopher and wife Nycki Buttram; and one great grandchild, Grayson Buttram. Funeral services will be conducted Friday June 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins and Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music will be provided by the Helping Hand Church Choir. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: David Ballew, Bobby Dills, Bobby Ledford, Jr. Hancock, Glen Patterson, and Andrew Diaz. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Raymond Montgomery, David Curtis, Robert Graham, Brett Jones, and Dr. Tim Whitaker. Interment will follow in the Friendship #3 Baptist Church Cemetery.
