Mr. Thomas Wendell Bennett, age 81, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born on July 9, 1929 in Fannin County, GA to the late Samuel Bennett and Minnie Bell Edwards Bennett. He worked as a house painter and was a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son Danny Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Billie L. Bennett of Blue Ridge; son, Joe Bennett of Blue Ridge; brother, Don Bennett of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Erik Bennett, Chad Bennett, and Jason Imler; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Harold Weeks and Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Music was by Pat Mashburn. Pallbearers were Speck Callihan, Chris Bradburn, Jeremy Bradburn, Steve Bennett, Donnie Bennett, and Maynard Roper. Honorary pallbearers were Winford Morris, Billy Lawrence, Rodney Weeks, Pud Thrasher, Terry Patterson, David Sisson, and Newell O'Neal. Interment followed in Barnes Chapel Cemetery.
