Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Ms. Thelma Arp, age 88, of Mineral Bluff who passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Arp and Ader Bell Arp. She was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Desma and James Davenport of Mineral Bluff; a brother, Lester Arp of Blue Ridge; a sister, Ell Arp of Mineral Bluff; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Roy Clore, Rev. Bill Johnson, and Rev. Allie Hyatt officiating. Music will be by Ivy Bice, Diana Bice, and Linda Ware. Pallbearers will be Scott Rogers, Jamie Bailey, Bob Hawkins, James Arp, Kermit Peak, and Glen Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Arp, J.C. Owenby, James R. Davenport. Paul Ware, Archie Bice, Charles Bailey, Paul Ray Morgan, Max Curtis, Chucky Bailey, and Shawn Bailey. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
