Terry Rex Hughes, age 63, of Turtletown passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his home. Terry was born on November 21, 1959 in Copperhill, TN to the Clarence and Eula Mae Hughes. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Lodge #702 F&AM in Dalton, GA. Terry enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Willy Hughes.

Terry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christine Hughes of the home; daughters, Gail (Jeremy) Kimsey, and Maggie (Jack Burkett) Hughes; grandchildren, Lacey Kimsey, Mason Kimsey, Tyler Kimsey, Jacob Spurling, Alexis Howe, Kelsey Burkett, Ronnie Burkett, and Stella Burkett; great-grandchild, Brynlee Smith; brother, Jerry (Ruth) Hughes; and sister, Angie Timpson.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Justin Payne officiating. Music was by Dale and Ruby Payne. Interment followed in the New Hope Holiness Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jacob Spurling, Jack Burkett, Jeremy Kimsey, Tyler Kimsey, Mason Kimsey, and Trent Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Randall Trantham, Chuck Adams, Rodney Ensley, Logan Hughes, Lucas Hughes, Calvin Burnette, and Robert Gardner. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to help defray final expenses.
