Mrs. Susan Bennie Patterson, of McCaysville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2024 just hours before her 72nd birthday. Susan was born on March 31, 1952 in Copperhill, TN to the late Claude Bennie and Susie Odell Wilcox Bennie. She was a member of the McCaysville Gospel Tabernacle and had worked many years as a Heatset Operator for Shaw Industries. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping with Mary and June and going to Dollywood with her grandkids, Lucas and Maci. She absolutely adored her great granddaughter Lainey and loved getting to take naps with her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Bennie.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Luther Clint "Mann" Patterson; son, Rodney (Pam) Patterson; grandchildren, Lucas (Kyleigh) Patterson and Maci Patterson; great grandchild, Lainey Patterson; brothers, Don Bennie and Scott (Rose) Bennie; sister-in-laws, Debbie Bennie and Vera Westmoreland; and is also survived by many members of her church family and friends.

Mrs. Patterson's life was celebrated at a service held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music was provided by the Choir of the McCaysville Gospel Tabernacle. Interment  followed the service in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chris Queen, Jeff Queen, Luke Davenport, Nathan Stuart, River Stuart, and Eric Whitener. Friends visited the family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
