Mrs. Susan Keys Long, age 59 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010 at her home.Susan was born on September 9, 1950 at Doctor Kay's Clinic in Byron, Georgia. She attended Heard Elementary School and McEvoy High School in Macon. Immediately after graduating from high school, she went to work with the First National Bank in Macon, Georgia. In 1997, after a long and successful career, she retired from SunTrust Bank in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a partner in the J.R. Long Construction Company in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Susan enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and canoeing. She explored the towns of north Georgia with her mom, Martha Keys and her spare mom, Judy Keys. Susan and her husband, Ron, traveled across the United States and Canada riding their railroad motor car through the scenic and beautiful areas that could only be seen from their mode of transportation. Susan and Ron were building their dream home in Blue Ridge, Georgia when she became ill.Susan's father, Bill Keys, of Blue Ridge, Georgia proceeded her in death. Susan is survived by her husband, Ron Long of Blue Ridge, Georgia; son, Jeff (Mary Lynn) Matthews of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Bridgette (Eric) Butnyski of Norcross, Georgia: mother Martha Hudson Keys of Blue Ridge, Georgia; spare mom Judy Keys of Blue Ridge, Georgia; brothers Cres (Wylene) Keys of Blue Ridge, Georgia and Brad Keys of Shorter, Alabama; sister-in-law Sandy (Jeff) Smith of Doraville, Georgia; grandchildren Evie Butnyski and Tommy Ledford; nephew Tod (Renee' ) Keys of Dahlonega, Georgia; great-niece Katherine Keys of Dahlonega, Georgia.A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Epworth, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the celebration.
