The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mrs. Sudie Sluder, age 87, of Big Creek Rd. Ellijay, GA who passed away November 21, 2010 at her residence. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late Jess and Annie Jones Watkins. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She had worked for a number of years for Aladdin Mills. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Sluder; one son, Thomas Sluder; and one sister, Lizzie Watkins. Survivors include one son, Billy Ray Sluder and wife Elaine of Ellijay, GA one brother, Myles Watkins of McCaysville, GA two grandchildren, Dena and husband Wade Davis and Tim and wife Janice Hall; and five great grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday November 24, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. J.W. Patterson, Rev. Wade Davis and Rev. George Dyer officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. J.W. Patterson and Nancy Watkins. Interment will follow in the Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Billy Sluder, Wade Davis, Dena Davis, Tim Hall, Janice Hall and Jade Davis.
