Stephen Chandler Smith was born on May 21, 1955 in Concord, Vermont. He passed away at home in Blue Ridge, Georgia to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024.

"Steve" was loved by many. He married Cindy Powell and had two children, Gina and Stephen Jr. He also has a beautiful granddaughter, Isabella.

He later married Lisa Amaral and helped raise two boys, Casey and Neil. Neil has two boys, Benny and Charlie. Casey and his wife live in Tennessee. Neil and his family live in Massachusetts.

Steve worked for his dad in his hardware business in Chatham, New York. Later, he became a long haul truck driver. When he moved to Bradenton, Florida, he delivered concrete block. He was known as a hard worker.

He always loved to ski and snow mobile, but his favorite thing to do was ride motorcycles. He and Marsha rode all over the country together. He was known as "Smitty" by his motorcycle friends.

Steve was adopted as a baby, but he was blessed to find his wonderful biological family later in his life. He has three sisters. They are Vicki Sorrell Tanner, Daphne Carden, and Darcie Newton. He also has two brothers, Craig and Stacey. He also has many nieces and nephews. He loved them all.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Timmy, his dad, Chandler, and his biological mom, Barbara Sorrell.

His mother, Jean Smith and his sister-in-law Chris Smith, as well as his niece Christina were also a big part of his life.

He recently married the love of his life, Marsha Dunn. She took care of him until the Lord took him to Heaven.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Branch Baptist Church, 1234 Mineral Bluff Highway, Mineral Bluff, GA 30559, with Pastor Travis Davenport officiating.
