Stephen Trent Roath, a Pastor at The Ridge Community Church in Blue Ridge, died Sunday evening, November 18, 2018,at the age of 49 years old. He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Tiffany Roath; his children Cassidy and Payton Roath; his parents Scott and Judy Abrams, Ron Roath; and a brother Blake Ashley Roath along with several aunts, uncles, nieces and a nephew. Steve was a man who would seek out the lonely or the hurting, he would put everyone else before himself. Conversationally, he was a man of few words so when he spoke, everyone listened and usually ended up laughing. However let him tell you about Jesus and you will find yourself sitting with him for hours because of his passion and love for the Lord. He spent over 2 months in the hospital and he had joy because God was giving him opportunities to share the gospel to every nurse, tech and cleaning lady that came in his room. His cancer became his mission field. Steve was one of the original pastors to plant The Ridge Community Church in 2010 after moving from California in 2006 and serving for four years as the youth minister at Temple Baptist Church. Visitation will be at The Ridge Community Church Sunday November 25, 2018 from 4-6 p.m with a memorial service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. You can also log onto theridge.cc at 6:00 p.m and watch the service online if you are unable to attend. His battle is won and we know heaven rejoices at his homecoming.
