Mr. Steve Carter, age 69, of Farner, TN, passed away on Saturday August 29, 2020 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late Garnett and Katherine Cochran Carter. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the New Zion Baptist Church in Farner. Mr. Carter had worked at Mathis-Mitch Machine shop in Dalton, GA and the H.C. Hackney Company. Steve will be missed by his canine companions Slager and Cupcake. His survivors include his three siblings and their spouses, Jerry and Lois Carter of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Jeanette Carter and Billie Jean and Norris Burger all of Farner, TN; nieces and nephews, Paula Carter, John Carter and Patrick Burger; specials friends, Debbie Carter, and Mark and Robin Borts. Steve's family had a graveside memorial service to honor his life on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donald Weaver officiating.
