Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Stella Lee Kendall, age 95, of the Dial Community, Blue Ridge who passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 in the Heritage Health Care Center in Blue Ridge. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Barney Panter and Margaret Lucindy Hughes Panter. She was a member of Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clay Kendall and two sons, Larry and Von Kendall. She is survived by four sons, Bob Kendall of Blue Ridge, Jerry Kendall of Blue Ridge, Barney Kendall of Canton, GA, and Vic Kendall of Blue Ridge; six daughters, Mary Jo Collins of Morganton, Betty Mitchell of Blue Ridge, Laura Bramlett of Marietta, GA, Dorothy Griffin of Austell, GA, Violet Kendall of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Dale Lord of Ellijay; a sister, Mae Beach of Blue Ridge; 34 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Music will be by the Salem #1 Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Weyland Collins, George Rogers, Richard Bramlett, Joey Kendall, Gene Kendall, and Warren Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Collins, Chip Griffin, Adam Kendall, Zachary Kendall, Steve Mitchell, Frank Lord, and Jason English. Interment will follow in Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
