Stanley Ray Washofsky, 72, of Blue Ridge passed away on July 12, 2008 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, 420 West Main Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Please note location change for memorial service.Born April 9, 1936 in El Paso, TX, Stan was raised in New Orleans, LA and attended Louisiana State University before serving in Army Intelligence in Taipai, Taiwan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Washofsky of Warsaw, Poland and Miriam Emily Falk of New Orleans, LA.Stan is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Patricia Parish Washofsky; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Michael Erbrick; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Rose Washofsky; beloved granddaughters, Kendell Washofsky, Spencer Washofsky, Rachel Erbrick and Hannah Erbrick; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Deborah Washofsky and Ralph and Sonia Washofsky.Stan and Patsy raised their family in Atlanta for twenty-five years and moved to Blue Ridge full-time in September, 1999. They became very active in the community and associations including the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Fannin, Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association and the Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race.
