Spencer Joseph Kitchens, age 61, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born on March 1, 1965, in Andrews, North Carolina, Spencer was the son of Moses Joshua "Tex" Kitchens and Olive Joan Anderson Kitchens.

Spencer was a lifelong member of Mineral Bluff Baptist Church. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and work family, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A dedicated public servant, Spencer began his career with Fannin County EMS in 1986. As an EMT-I and firefighter, he devoted his life to serving others with compassion. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards and certifications, including state certification and HazMat certification. Spencer loved being an EMT and found great purpose in caring for people during their times of greatest need. He also had a passion for teaching emergency medical services, taking pride in mentoring and passing his knowledge and experience on to the next generation.

Outside of his career, Spencer was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and spending time in nature. He also had a special love for animals.

Spencer's legacy of service, faith, compassion, and dedication to others will continue to live on in the many lives he touched throughout his career and community.

He is preceded in death by his father, Moses Joshua "Tex" Kitchens.
