Sonya Deanette Standridge, age 53, of Copperhill passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born on April 27, 1971 in Copperhill, TN to Jack and Dawna Standridge. Sonya leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and care that will continue to inspire and uplift those who remember her.
Sonya dedicated over 30 years of her life to nursing, a career marked by compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment. Her patients knew her as a beacon of kindness, and her colleagues admired her for her dedication and expertise.
Outside of her professional life, Sonya was a true adventurer at heart. She found joy in exploring new destinations, and her travels were a testament to her zest for life. She delighted in the thrill of shopping, the serenity of gardening, and exhilaration of riding through the mountains. Each of these passions brought her immense joy and allowed her to share her vibrant spirit with those around her.
To all who knew her, Sonya was a "barrel full of fun," a lighthearted and generous soul who brought laughter and warmth into every room. Her infectious enthusiasm and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sonya is preceded in death by her father, Claude "Jack" Standridge.
She is survived by her son, Wyatt Standridge; mother, Dawna Standridge; siblings, Stoney (Lisa) Standridge, Amy (Robbie) Cole, Billy (Tammy) Standridge, and Sharon (David) Bailey; nephews, Tyler (Crystal) Standridge, and Ben Galloway; nieces, Kendall (Shelbi) Standridge, and Haley Runion; great-nieces, Amelia Standridge, and Vayda Standridge; uncle, Bill Standridge; aunt, Jackie Cash; and K9 companion, Haven.
Memorial services were conducted on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 8:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for Wyatt's college fund at United Community Bank.
