Shirley Jean Worthey, age 74, of Ocoee, TN passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, TN. Shirley was born on August 3, 1947 in Cleveland, TN to the late Floyd Austion Forgey and Sammie Lee Hill Forgey. She was owned and operated Just Fits in Benton, TN for a number of years, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Benton, TN. Shirley had a love and desire to help everyone that she met, and first and foremost, she displayed a strong love for her children and grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Worthey; sister, Betty Forgey; and triplet siblings, Floyd, Boyd, and Lloyd Forgey. Shirley is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin Worthey, Avery and Rita Worthey, and Max and Dorothy Worthey, all of Benton; grandchildren and spouses, Crystal and Matthew Pritts of Farner, Lora and Ross Miller of Benton, and Dana and Phillip Trentham of Benton; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Clark, Lily Miller, Levi Trentham, and Kyren Trentham; sister, Cynthia Forgey of Greece; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Trentham and Rev. Michael Garrett officiating. Music will be provided by the Fellowship Singers. Interment will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Pritts, Ross Miller, Phillip Trentham, Alvin Worthey, Avery Worthey, and Max Worthey.
