Shirley Dodson, age 74, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Dodson was born on July 12, 1940 in Fannin County, GA to the late Fred Oscar Couch and Elizy Cole Couch. She was a member of Sunrise Tabernacle. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sherri Dodson of Dallas, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Steven Burnett of Oakville, WA and Gwen and Luis Lopez of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Charles Couch of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Greg, Arick, Jenee, Samantha, Julie, Joshua, Charles, Laura, Sarah, Cheyenne, Aaron, Rachel, and Ben; and great grandchildren, Jaclyn, Tyler Anne, Maddex, Amara, Libby, Caitlyn, Kylie, and Harper. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Darvin Couch and Rev. Larry Turner officiating. Music was by Brenda Turner and Shirley Walker. Pallbearers were Joshua Burnett, Aaron Lopez, Luke Frazier, Harold Rhodes, Melvin Cole, and Luis Lopez. Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Dodson, Benjamin Dodson and Steven Burnett. Interment followed in Sunrise Tabernacle Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
