Mrs. Shirley Ann Dills, age 75, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away at her home on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Shirley was born on June 18, 1949, in Morganton, Georgia, to the late Clores Hughes and Madeline Fisher Hughes. She was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Day Corp as a seamstress.
Shirley had a deep love for the simple joys in life. She was especially fond of western movies and loved horses. Her love for animals extended to all kinds-particularly birds, which she enjoyed watching. She also found great joy in playing board games, going shopping, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. Her grandbabies held a very special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment with them.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Truman Dills; children, Dena Lea Hughes, Robert Davis, and Lisa Brown; grandchildren, Becky Davis, Joshua Davis, and Shawn Brown; and siblings, Caramel Hughes, Gwen Buford, Levern Hughes, Linda Hughes, Anita Smith, Charlene Sluder, and Clida Sue White.
She is survived by her children, Glance Davis, Chris Davis, Edward Ritchie, and Beverly Wooten; grandchildren, Jessica Fox, Rachel Kendall, Christopher Davis, Brooklyn Wright, Libbi Ritchie, Leia Ritchie, Vance Beaver, Dylan Beaver, A.J. Cook, Aubrey Cook, Isaiah Long, Tyler Colletti, Angela Davis, and Charlotte Wooten; great-grandchildren, Harriet Wright, Finn Wright, Leo Watson, Toby Watson, and Sawyer Watson; siblings, Claudette Hughes and Edwin Hughes; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Graveside services were held on Friday, June 20,2025 at 4:00 p.m. from the New Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, Georgia with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. The following served as pallbearers: Edward Ritchie, Chris Davis, Glance Davis, Christopher Davis, Jessica Fox, and Nancy Fox. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
