Sharon "Cheryl" Lynn Hicks Murrell, age 58, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023 in Farner. She was born on October 15, 1964, to the late Troy Hicks and Linda Faye Hughes Hicks. Cheryl was saved at age 9 at a camp meeting in Benton and was later baptized in Campbell Cove Lake. She attended Kinser Church of God.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Ron Murrell, Jr; daughter, Daffinie Dawn Morrow; grandson, Jeremiah Christian Alan Murphy; and siblings and their spouses, Leola Denise Bottoms, John Troy and Linda Hicks, Timothy Dwight and Jane Hicks, Thomas Matthew Hicks and Alex Hicks, and Tracy Gail Hicks Stewart and Bob Stewart; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Music will be provided by Casey Dillard, Hillary Monger, and Kelly Flowers. Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery with Rev. Rob Dillard officiating. Pallbearers will be Eli Hicks, Isaac Hicks, Stacy Mashburn, Ed Allen, Jeff Mashburn, Jeremiah Murphy, Daniel Skelton, and Zack White. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday Evening from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Condolences may be left for the families online at www.akinscobb.com.
