Scotty Emory Dillard, age 55, of Murphy passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 in Chattanooga, TN. Scotty was born on March 7, 1971 in Atlanta, GA to Landon Emory Dillard and Linnie Marcella Beaver Dillard. He was a member of Simonds Chapel Baptist Church. Scotty enjoyed the simple thing like having a good time and laughing, playing monopoly with his family, and collecting everything he could. He was also a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand others. Scotty was a momma's boy at heart who was so proud of his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Landon Dillard; and sister, Jane Turlington.
Scotty is survived by his children, Evan (Abby) Dillard, Easton Dillard, and Emily Dillard; mother, Marcella Dillard; siblings, Johnny (Geneva) Dillard, Ronnie (Rhonda) Dillard, and Connie (Shawn) Chancey; the mother of his children, Carol Dillard; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 13 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. Music was provided by Scotty's nieces. Interment followed in the Simond's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tyler Jory, Brock Hyde, Preston Hyde, Ryan Dillard, Aiden Anderson, and Kayleb Chancey. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Ray, Jeff Ray, Scott Ray, T.J. Shields, Israel Campbell, Jason Cutshaw, and Matthew Campbell. The family visited with friends at Akins-Cobb of Copperhill on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to help defray the final expenses. (Donate Online Here).
