Scott Royce "8-Ball" Hamilton, age 55, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Blue Ridge. Born on August 3, 1961 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Jack Harold Hamilton and Enid Harris Hamilton. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. He retired from Boyd Brothers Trucking in Birmingham, AL where he worked as a truck driver. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lonie Tuttle.He is survived by his wife, Karen Dockrey Hamilton of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Kendra and Teddy Cash of McCaysville and Kathleene "Kaby" and Jonathan Cole of McCaysville; grandchildren, Abigail Cash, Valerie Cash, Bristol Cash, Brayden Hamilton, and Alyssa Cole; brother, Mark Hamilton of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Joe Leblanc of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and brother-in-law, Mark Tuttle.Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Interment followed in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joey Allard, Wilson Warren, Don Ritchie, Richard Wiley, Joe Leblanc, and Randy Watkins. Honorary pallbearers were James Lloyd, Dillan Leblanc, Teddy Cash, Jonathan Cole, Brayden Hamilton, Daniel Cash, Bill Jones, and the members of the Davenport Woodyard.
