The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mrs. Sarah Hardin Gallaher Taylor, age 89, of Copperhill who passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009. Mrs. Taylor was born in Johnson City, TN on July 1, 1919 to the late William Franklin and Josephine Williams Gallaher. She was a homemaker and member of the McCaysville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Taylor and granddaughter, Martha Crouch.She is survived by daughters, Helen and husband, Bill Crouch of Copperhill, TN, Esther and husband, James H. Gray of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, James H. Gray, Jr., Joanna G. Showalter , William A. Gray, Keith Willard Crouch and David William Crouch. Seven great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, January 10th at 12:00 PM from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Gary Barber officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Taylor may be made to your favorite charity.
