Sara Mae Burger, age 72, of McCaysville, GA passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Burger was born in Copperhill, TN on August 14, 1936 to the late Roy McGee and Callie Irene Wilson McGee. She worked as a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Cherry Log Community Club. She is survived by her husband, James Burger of McCaysville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Tammy Burger of Blue Ridge and Jeff and Brenda Burger of Cleveland, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Steve Phillips of Blue Ridge and DeEtta and Jay Brooks of Newnan, GA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Private graveside services were held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. from Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with Rev. Junior Burger officiating. Pallbearers were Jay Brooks, Steve Phillips, Andrew Burger, Justin Burger, Caleb Phillips, Michael Messer, Larry Sisson, and Junior Cornette.
