Sandra L. Pinson, 64, originally of McCaysville, Georgia, died August 24, 2009 after battling breast cancer.Mrs. Pinson was born June 27, 1945 to Grady and Dorothy Long and was the fourth of seven children. She married Joseph Pinson in 1962, with whom she would have celebrated her 47th wedding anniversary in September. Mrs. Pinson relocated with her husband to Ohio for five years and Alabama for eight years due to his employment. Before retiring in 1999, Mrs. Pinson was Assistant to the Plant Manager at Nova Chemical Company.She is survived by her husband Joseph, son Darryl, daughter Paige, brothers Fred, Bill and Sam Long, along with sisters Sharon McDaris and Wanda Galloway. Mrs. Pinson has two grandchildren, Wade and Alaina.Mrs. Pinson was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Dorothy Long in addition to her sister Shelby Meaders.Memorial services were conducted Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Williamstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officating. Music was by Rebecca Rhodes and Jennifer McDaris. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memory Gardens at a later date. Flowers are accepted however donations in memory of Mrs. Pinson may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
