Sandra Metina Bryant Newman, age 61, of Jeffersonville, IN, formerly of the Copper Basin Area passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2008. Born in Polk County, TN she was the daughter of the late Deyo and Mildred Bandy Coleman and Fred Bryant. She had worked for a number of years as a Rental Apartment Manager. Mrs. Newman was a member of the New Ground Baptist Church and was also an avid fan of University of Tennessee Sports especially that of Football and Women's Basketball program. Mrs. Newman was also preceded in death by a sister, Diane Stiles. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Eddie Newman of Macon, GA and Jason and Sarah Newman of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons-in-laws, Denise and Sean Queen of Blue Ridge, GA, Rhonda and Chip Stamey of Jeffersonville, IN and Renee and Scott Harris of Athens, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Gina Coleman of Turtletown, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Hughes, Clayton Hughes, Jordan Harris, Christopher Newman, Amy Newman, Nathan Newman and Trevor Newman.Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, April 26th, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Terry Callihan and Rev. Mitchell Taylor officiating. Music was by Mike and Gina Coleman and Champ Prince. Interment followed in the Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Baptist Church Cemetery.
