Samuel Glen Shoemaker, age 77, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023, with his family by his side. Glen worked for Frank Chastain as a maintenance supervisor for many years. He was a trick of all trades and loved to tinker with old cars and hot rods. Glen was a little rough around the edges, but once you got to know him and saw the true side of him, you knew he had a heart of gold.

Glen is preceded in death by his wife: Marty Shoemaker; son: Russell Shoemaker; parents: Arrie and Frannie Mae Shoemaker; brothers: Donald, Larry, and Fosteen Shoemaker; sister: Helen Ray; stepdaughter: Trudy Boiling; grandson: Travis Boiling

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Diane (Tommy) Thornhill, Willie Wars, Mary Lynn (R.L) Knight, Richard Shoemaker, Janice Cook, Peggy (Jerry) Cook, Ronnie (Melody) Haney, Deborah (Joe) Cook, and Jimmy (Michelle) Haney; son: Samuel (Brenda) Bearden; grandchildren: Jeremy Shoemaker, Matthew Shoemaker, Christopher (Ashley) Bearden, Gleen Bearden; great grandchildren: Hailey Shoemaker, Raelynn Shoemaker, Abigail Bearden and Xia Bearden; daughter-in-law: Barbara Shoemaker; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

The family will hold a graveside service at O'Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 1517 Campbell Road, Blue Ridge, Georgia 30513 on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 1:30p.m.
