Mr. Sammy Lynn Long, age 67, of Morganton, GA passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Emory - Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Long was born April 10, 1947 in Fannin County, GA to the late William Grady Long and Dorothy Marie Golden Long. He was an electrician by trade. Mr. Long belonged to Appalachia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Shelba Metters and Sandra Pinson.He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Long of the home; daughters, Tammy Lynette (Brian Williams) Long of Kennesaw, GA and LeAnna Marie (Kenneth) Newton of Morganton, GA; brothers, Bill (Faye) Long of Florida and Sonny (Marlene) Long of McCaysville, GA; sisters, Sharon (Late Joe) McDaris of Blairsville, GA and Wanda (David) Galloway of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Lance Williams, Kaitlyn Williams, and Carl Newton.Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Hemptown Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Thomas and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music was by the Thomas family. Pallbearers were Nelson Thomas, Tony Wright, Russell Williams, and Matthew McDaniel.
