Mrs. Sammie Galloway Griggs Mull, age 87, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Sammie was the daughter of the late Sam and Annie Matthews Galloway. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Galloway Beavers; a brother, J.D. Galloway, and a baby sister, Billy Ann Galloway. Seventeen years after the passing of her first husband, J.H. Griggs, Sammie married Paul Mull who passed away 14 years later. Sammie taught school in Fannin County, and also worked at the Fannin County Department of Family and Children's Services. She was a Pink Lady at Fannin Regional Hospital for many years. Sammie was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Lane and Chris Gay of Blue Ridge and Pam and Hal Medlin of Smyrna, GA; sons, James Harold Griggs and Greg Griggs, both of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Barry Carver and wife Shannon, Stephanie Kitchens and husband Spencer, Shawn Carver and wife Becky, Heather Holloway and husband Jeffery, Blythe Ann Griggs, Helen Medlin, and Caroline Medlin; great grandchildren, Whitley McDaris, Stephen Carver, Zachary Carver, Brady Carver, Amber Dickey, and Zoe Richter; great great grandchildren, Drew McDaris and Gracie McDaris; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from First Baptist Church of Epworth with Dr. Tom Jordan and Dr. Phil Griffin officiating. Music was by Rev. Doug Simonds and Hal Medlin. Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Epworth served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Fannin Regional Hospital.
