Mrs. Ruth Mae "Patsy" Hawkins, age 88, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1935 to the late Willie and Estie McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents, listed above, husband, Lee Roy Hawkins, and siblings, Thelma Nichols, Willa Nell Jones, Bud McDaniel, Helen Walden, Howard McDaniel, Ruby Thomas, George McDaniel, Johnny McDaniel, and Hazel Dillard.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Johnny) Adams of Canton, Georgia, Jackie Millsaps and Larry Queen of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Donna (Barry) Evans of Woodstock, Georgia, and Lorri (Jeff) Burks of Blairsville, Georgia; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Ruth's life was woven with love and laughter. As a devoted mother to her four daughters, Vicki, Jackie, Donna, and Lorri, she raised them with warmth and unwavering support. Her grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart, were the recipients of her endless love and playful antics. Watching them grow and learn brought her immense joy.

Ruth gave many years to and retired from Levi Strauss & Co. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins and Anthony Walden officiating. Music will be provided by Sherry Walden and special conclusion music is by Ruth's sisters, which was recorded in the 1970's. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with the following serving as pallbearers : Eric Adams, Adam Walker, Nathan Adams, Ashley Brock, Jackson Adams, Lee Brock, Cooper Adams, Landen Adams and Luke Adams. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, February 28, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
