The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Ruth Lowery Ensley Henson, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA, who passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Ruth was born in Polk County, TN to the late William Joseph and Martha Octavia Lowery. She was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church and the Josephine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Homer Ensley and Edgar Henson; five brothers; two sisters; granddaughter, Tammy Dillard; and two sons-in-law, Ray Mashburn and Gene Dunn. She is survived by sons, Danny and wife Ethelene Ensley of McCaysville, GA, Anthony Wade Ensley of Murphy, NC; six daughters, Carolyn Ruth Ensley of McCaysville, GA, Judy Newton of Epworth, GA, Marilyn Sue Dunn of McCaysville, GA, Diane and husband, Gary Pittman of Epworth, GA, Katie Mashburn of Blue Ridge, GA, Lois Jean and husband Ronnie Woody of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, Crystal Twiggs, Kim Dean, Billy Newton, Marcy Owens, Renee Ensley, Sabrina King and Ashley Ensley. Nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Clifton Patterson officiating. Music will be by the New Liberty Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers include, Michael Ensley, James Roy, Junior Ensley, J.K.Davenport, Billy Newton and Benny Ensley. Honorary pallbearers include, Jimmy Ensley, Charles Ensley, Darren King, Donnie Davenport and Shawn Davenport. Interment will follow in the Mobile cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12:00 noon Thursday but especially from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday evening.
