Mrs. Ruth Butt, age 90, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 21, 1931, to the late Horace Mull and Minnie Barnes Mull. Mrs. Butt was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; late husband, William Fain Butt; daughter, Kathryn Lyn Butt; infant son, William Fain Butt Jr.; second husband, Wilbur Peacock; four brothers, and four sisters. Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" Barnes Butt and Melanie Butt of Cartersville, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Kathryn Butt, Shannon Elizabeth Butt, and William Mason Butt; and sister Cylma Hemphill. A funeral service was conducted on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 3:00 pm from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel. Dr. Bill Butt provided a eulogy. Music was provided by Pat Young and Jeannette Rismiller. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.ccf.org.
