Ruffus Eldon Brawley, age 74 of Suches, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Blue Ridge. He was born on March 12, 1944 in Dial to the late Woodrow Brawley and Viola Tanner Brawley. Mr. Brawley was of the Baptist Faith and had attended Sugar Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Stuart Decatur Construction Company as a superintendent of iron work. Mr. Brawley was a member of the Iron Workers Union in Indianapolis, IN. He was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Brawley loved to fish and enjoyed NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant Brawley.He is survived by his children, Debra (Chris) Wade of Suches, GA, Lisa Kay Elliott of Blue Ridge, GA; Lisa Sue (Dewayne) Ingles of McCaysville, GA, Timothy (Tina) Brawley of McCaysville, GA and Daniel Carter of Indian Hills, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle (Jerry Ann) Brawley of Paragon, IN and Wendall (Jinny) Brawley of Paragon, IN; sister, Jenny Pearl Byers of Dial, GA; grandchildren, Alicia Kay Rose, Travis Jeffery Barrett, Whitney Marie Lee, Courtney Brawley and Brett (Tiffany) Ingles; and great-grandchildren, John Thomas Lee, Kennedi Rose, Brody Ingles, Eli Ingles and Finn Ingles also survive. Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. from the Brawley Cemetery, 157 Brawley Lane, Suches, GA 30572 with Rev. Gary Queen, Jr. and Rev. Freddie Thomas officiating. Doyle Brawley, Wendall Brawley, Chris Wade, Jerry Kendall, Randy Brawley and Bob Kendall served as pallbearers. Vic Kendall, Jerry Brawley and John Lee served as honorary pallbearers. Military Honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
