Mrs. Ruby Inez Ward, age 95, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Blue Ridge. She was born on May 2, 1929 in Blue Ridge to the late John and Ollie Miller Conley. Ruby was devoted in the Baptist faith, and a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse, spending many years taking care of others. She enjoyed going to family picnics and gatherings, going to all the church activities, and always cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves. She had many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, and crafts.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, James R. "Toody" Ward; son, Randy Ward; daughter, Jan Blevins; brothers, Ralph Conley, Frank Conley, Reid Conley, and Wade Conley; and sisters, Ruth Parris, Louise Porter, and Effie Griffin.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Mathis; son, Jerry Ward; son-in-law, Steve Blevins; grandchildren, Chad Mathis, Brandon Ward, Candace Welch, Heather Jewell, Duell Blevins, Jeremy Harvey, and Jessica Harvey Davis; great-grandchildren, Colton Mathis, Reed Welch, Braden Jewell, Bree Jewell, and Braxton Ward; many other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jess Posey and Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Music was provided by the Sugar Creek Quartet. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chad Mathis, Colton Mathis, Bryan Jewell, Braden Jewell, Derrick Welch, and Steve Blevins. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were: Duell Blevins and Brandon Ward. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday, prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
