Mrs. Ruby Jane Smith, age 93, of Turtletown, TN passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Copperhill, TN. She was born on June 2, 1917 in Polk County, TN to the late Dolph and Vernie Horton Swanson. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Smith; two sons, Dennis Loudermilk and Bob Loudermilk and daughter, Sue McFarland. Survivors include sons, Butch Loudermilk of Turtletown, TN, Melvin Smith of Benton, TN; sister, Loraine Grant of Ducktown, TN; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Akins Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Music was by Kenny and Kim O'Neal. Pallbearers were Chuck Loudermilk, Dennis Loudermilk, Isaiah Loudermilk, Nathan Smith, Jeremy Smith, Jeff Payne and Gary Loudermilk. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Cemetery.
