Mrs. Ruby Lee Sharp, age 84, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, September 07, 2008 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late Jim and Margaret Mull Porter. She was a homemaker, loved crocheting, quilting and playing with her grandchildren and other children. Mrs. Sharp was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by daughter, Catherine Lucille Harper; son, James Earl Ledford; grandson, Allen Harper; brothers, Ernest Porter, Luke Porter, Frank Porter and Rubin Porter; sisters, Reathel Patterson, Ruth Patterson and Edith Hembree. She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Willis Monroe Sharp of the home; daughter, Mary Helen Winkler of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter in law, Sue Aaron of Blue Ridge, GA; son-in-law, Ted Harper of Dalton, GA; brothers, Walter Porter of Blue Ridge, GA and J.B. Porter of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Rowanda Lindley of Blue Ridge, GA, Inez Porter of Blue Ridge, GA, Mary Lou Porter of MI, Helen Porter of Blue Ridge, GA and Louise Porter of Blue Ridge, GA; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mann officiating. Music was by Brad and Tammy Kaylor. Interment followed in Young's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donnie Callihan, Randy Sharp, Terry Winkler, Jeff Ledford, Yancey Winkler and Darren Ledford.
