Fannie Ruby McClure, age 72, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Northside Hospital in Canton, GA. Mrs. McClure was born on January 20, 1945 in Fannin County, GA to the late Virgil and Fannie Cornwell Patterson. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Nellie Ruby McClure; a son, Donald McClure; and a grandson, Benjermen Shane McClure. She is survived by her husband, Arvil "Bennie" McClure of Blue Ridge; sons, Bennie Ardel (Pam) McClure of Ellijay, Virgil William (Terresa) McClure of Blue Ridge, John Verome (Amy) McClure of Blue Ridge, and Jason Neal (Mariel) McClure of Blue Ridge; daughters, Abby (Russell) Evans of Ellijay and Amy (Shane) Crisp of Hayesville; a sister, Mary Sue Green of Blue Ridge; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 3:30 pm from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Fair and Rev. Darvin Couch officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn) Baptist Church with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Seth McClure, Isaac McClure, Andrew McClure, Mason McClure, Patrick Curtis, and Julio Hing.
