Ruby Long Boone, age 81, of McDonough, GA passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at her home. She was born on August 31, 1941, in the Padena Community of Fannin County, GA, to the late Robert Coleman Long and Senia Farmer Long. Ruby was a member of McDonough Baptist Tabernacle. She worked as bookkeeper and secretary for South Decatur Baptist Church and taught the 4 and 5 year old Sunday School class.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Elmer Curtis Boone; and siblings, Ruth Hawkins, April Myrtle Long, Carrie Conley, Jane Ledford, Grace Painter, Willie Farmer, John Long, Betty Cochran, Frank Long, and Bunyon Long.

Ruby is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Dale Powell and Linda and Rev. Nathan Snow; grandchildren, David (Christine) Powell, Melissa (Michael) Oswalt, Daniel (Cristy) Snow, Megan Snow, Andrew (Esther) Snow, Jacob Snow, Noah Snow, Josiah Snow, and Isaac Snow; great-grandchildren, Liam Snow, Curtis Snow, and Sumire Snow; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM, from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Nathan Snow officiating. Interment followed in the Stockhill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Oswalt, David Powell, Jacob Snow, Noah Snow, Josiah Snow, and Isaac Snow. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.akinscobb.com.
