Obituary

Mr. Roy Gene Sisson, age 73, of Copperhill passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Polk County, TN, he was the son of the late William Hoyt Sisson and Edith Simonds Sisson. He worked for the Tennessee Copper Company and attended McCaysville Gospel Tabernacle. He served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Sisson of the home; stepsons, Roger Carter, Jr. of Glendale, CA and Robert Carter of Blue Ridge; stepdaughter, Julie Curtis of Chatsworth, GA; brother, Tommy Sisson of Copperhill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Percy Rogers of Cleveland, TN, Shirley and Travis Huffman of Blue Ridge and Emily Walden of Blue Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music was by Sherry and Lacey Walden. Pallbearers were Billy Callihan, Jim Callihan, Anthony Walden, Darryl Walden, Brandon Walden, Rodney Rogers, Benji Rogers, and Robert Carter. Interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
