Roy Lamar Johns, age 79, of Morganton, GA passed away October 19, 2013 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Florahome, FL, he was the son of the late John Richard and Marie Lamb Johns. He had worked for many years as a Barber. Mr. Johns was a veteran of the United Stats Army and was a member of the Melrose Methodist Church in Naples, FL. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Johns Wallace. Survivors include his wife, Virginia S. Johns of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lamar Johns, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Naples, FL; sister, Jean Stevens of Anthony, FL; grandchildren, Virginia Rose Wallace and Richard Lee Wallace; son-in-law, John Wallace of Naples, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Hudson Shanks of Earleton, FL. The family would like to give special thanks to Butch and Judy Maner and Scott Blunke for the help they gave to our family during Mr. Johns illness. Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating.
