Roy Elmer Henderson, age 76, of Blairsville, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019. He was born on April 9, 1942 to the late Elmer and Ruby Jenkins Henderson. He served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Delta Airlines where he worked as an Inspector. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and actively involved in the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for over 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rachel Wood Henderson; children and their spouses, Darcey and Danny Sanders, Blake Henderson, Scott and Kristi Henderson, and Casey and Jennifer Henderson; grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler and Ashley Sanders, Lee and Erica Sanders, Wesley and Abbie Henderson, William and Sarah Henderson; grandchildren, Anna Henderson, Amy Henderson, Ryan Henderson, and Drew Henderson; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Allie, Payten, Ella, Beverly, Annabelle, and Maverick Sanders. A Celebration of Roy's Life was conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Military Honors was provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Georgia National Cemetery with Chaplain Jeffrey Herron of the Georgia Air National Guard officiating.
