Funeral Service
Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Roy Lynn Bradburn, age 76, passed away March 2026, at the Blue Ridge Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1949 in Ellijay to the late Charlie and Emma Pless Bradburn.
Roy was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cherry Log Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Fannin High School Class of 1967. Roy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam, where his exposure to Agent Orange led to many of his health problems. He had worked for a number of years at Tennessee Chemical Company, and then as a Mechanic. Before his health faded, he raised unbelievably beautiful gardens every year and fed many people from them. Roy loved to watch his birds, especially the Hummingbirds.
Roy loved his family and the simple things in life. He enjoyed family gatherings, all types of racing, 50's and 60's old time rock and roll music, good cup of coffee, sitting on his front porch, and especially loved all of his grandchildren and tried his best to spoil them. Roy always put others before himself and truly loved giving more than receiving. His life was a great example of how God tells us we should live.
The family would like to wish a special and sincere gratitude to the following people that were such a blessing during Roy's illness: Ron Bradburn, James Bradburn, Megan Towe, and the Staff of Blue Ridge Medical, Robin Reeves, Krista Parrinello, Audrey York, Rev. Kevin Chapman, and Rev. Gary Queen.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Bradburn, Larry Bradburn, and Jerry Bradburn.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia Bradburn; his children, Scott and Lana Bradburn, Chris and Julie Bradburn, Jeremy and Nikki Bradburn; grandchildren, Lauren Bradburn, Evan Bradburn, Colton Bradburn, Mason Bradburn, Jacob Bradburn, Caleb Bradburn, Ashley Gray and Isaiah Gray, Justin Shipes and Kati Sanford; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Patterson; siblings, David and Deborah Bradburn, Ronald and Denise Bradburn, James Bradburn, Monita Davenport, and Margie and Wade Hampton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday March 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Kevin Chapman officiating. Music will be provided by Nikki Bradburn and Shannon Bradburn. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Evan Bradburn, Colton Bradburn, Jacob Bradburn, Caleb Bradburn, and Isaiah Gray. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Roy's nephews, George Watkins, Jamie Hensley, and Jackie Warren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinscobb.com. Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
