Mrs. Roszene P. Mathis, age 68, of Blue Ridge passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Patterson and Della Long Patterson. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and a member of the O.E.S. of McCaysville. She was preceded in death by a son Roger Lee Weeks. Mrs. Mathis was a loving mother and grandmother, very community oriented and a devout Christian. She was survived by her husband of 48 years, Junior Mathis of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Julie Weeks of Blue Ridge; son, Rodney Mathis of Chamblee, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Hazel Patterson of Calhoun, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorene and Hubert Stevenson of Chatsworth and JoAnn and Kenneth Nash of Stone Mountain, GA; grandchildren, Stacy Weeks, Vanessa Weeks, Ralph and Tanya Weeks, Melissa Weeks, Christina Bryant, Victoria Weeks, and Jackson Weeks; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ray Queen, Rev. Scott Baugh, and Rev. Alan Pickelsimer officiating. Music was by Back to Bethany. Pallbearers were Stacey Weeks, Ralph Weeks, Roy Payne, Darren Garland, Johnny Stevenson, and Doyle Patterson. Interment followed in Millsaps Cemetery.
