Rosie Mae Harris, age 93, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 1, 1932 in Cherokee County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late W.E. Hancock and Edith Ledford Hancock. Devoted in her faith, Rosie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she enjoyed taking part in worship and fellowship. She loved spending time gardening and canning. Rosie was a true caretaker, always extending a hand to those in need. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Sam "Bud" Harris; siblings and their spouses, Nola and Lake Bell, Laura and J.T. Walker, Jr and Dolla Mae Hancock, Jess and Mildred Hancock, Homer and Bernice Hancock, Freddie and Bennie Sue Hancock, Willa Mae and Billy Ballew, Tootsie and Junior Helton, Jerry and Sue Baugh, and Jimmy and Frances Harris; son-in-law, Stacy Curtis; and infant son, Johnny Harris.
Rosie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and David Brawley; grandchildren and their spouses, Jerrod and Whitley Curtis, Kelsey and Brady Carver, and Katie and Mason Ballew; great-grandchildren, Ian Carver and Jett Carver; siblings and their spouses, Johnny and Linda Harris and Carol and Lowell Alexander; special neighbors and friends, Gordon and Gloria Walden; numerous extended relatives, and dear friends.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Copperhill, Tennessee with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music was provided by Rick Curtis. Serving as pallbearers were Jerrod Curtis, Mason Ballew, Brady Carver, Charlie Baugh, Fritz Baugh, Kevin Harris, and Jimmy Walker. The family visited with friends at the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, GA on Wednesday, prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Following visitation, family prayer was led by Rev. Al Patterson prior to the service.
