The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge of Mrs. Rosa Lee Payne, age 90 of Blue Ridge, who passed away on January 12, 2010 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Born in Sweetwater, TN she was the daughter of the late Perry and Nancy King Sisson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and longtime member of the Welcome Hill #1 Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Jackson Payne; one son, Ervin Payne; and two brothers, Mrs. Rosa Lee Payne, age 90 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on January 12, 2010 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Born in Sweetwater, TN she was the daughter of the late Perry and Nancy King Sisson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and longtime member of the Welcome Hill #1 Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Jackson Payne; one son, Ervin Payne; and two brothers, Noah and Frank Sisson. Survivors include three sons and two daughter-in-laws, James and Kathy Payne of Blue Ridge, GA, Wade and Martha Payne of Copperhill, TN, and Ray D. Payne of Blue Ridge, GA; four daughters and three son-in-laws, Ruby and Ronnie Queen of Epworth, GA, Linda and Tim Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA, Brenda and Gary Queen of Epworth, and Shirley Payne of Blue Ridge, GA; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; one sister, Lilly Thomas of Cleveland, TN. Funeral services were conducted on Friday January 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA with Rev. Larry Turner, Rev. Michael Collis and Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music was provided by Jessie and Lena Hill. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with the following grandsons serving as pallbearers: Gary Queen, Jr. Jeffery Queen, Aaron Payne, Billy Payne Josh Postelle, and Derrick Queen.
