Mr. Ronald Junior Pinson, age 64, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 6, 1949 in Ducktown, TN. He was a law enforcement officer in the tri-state area, working most recently for Blue Ridge Police Department. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Howard "Jack" Pinson. Mr. Pinson served in the United States Army and worked many years at the Tennessee Copper Company in the mines. He was owner/operator of the Mt. Ranger Military Surplus Store. He was a Blue Ridge Police Department Range Instructor who qualified all area law enforcement. He was a member of Ocoee Lodge #201, McCay Lodge #421, and collected Vietnam era memorabilia. Mr. Pinson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Pinson of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Pinson and Stephanie Baliles Pinson of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy Guthrie and David Guthrie and Blue Ridge; his mother, Pearl Dockery of Blue Ridge; brothers, Fred Earl "Jackie" Pinson of Atlanta and Joseph F. "Joe" Pinson of Kansas; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Bill Kyle of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Tiffany Pinson, Ashley Gutherie, and Christian Gutherie; stepbrother, Paul Dockery and Family of Mineral Bluff, GA; stepsister, Barbara Burn and Family of Tunnel Hill, GAand a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Russell Hood officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Lieter, Winford Cruse, Art Winkler, Leon Streetman and Don Plemmons. Interment was in Copper Ridge Memory Garden.
