Mr. Ronald Michael Messer, age 56, of Ellijay, GA, passed away December 23, 2016 in the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late Claude William "Billy" and Joyce Bumgardner Messer. Ronnie owned and operated Messer Moving for a number of years and also had the contract for carrying mail for the US Postal Service from Blue Ridge to Atlanta for 10 years. He was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. His siblings, Tony Messer and Charlene Messer also precedes him in death.Survivors include his wife, Tina Harbin Messer of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Christy Messer and Ashley and Daniel Crawford of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Madison Messer, Penny Crawford, Josey Aaron, and Logan Aaron all of Ellijay, GA; siblings and their spouses, JoAnn and Cecil Dockery of Blue Ridge, GA, Scottie and Sylvia Messer of Ellijay, GA; David Messer of Stockbridge, GA, Sheila and Anthony Ware of Blue Ridge, GA, Sharon and Keith Ballew of Ellijay, GA, Robbie Newton, Billy Joe and Amy Messer all of Blue Ridge, GA, Melinda and Les Dillard of Ellijay, GA, Shonda and Rodney Kendall, Amanda Messer, Randy Clore, Donnie Price and Ronnie Price all of Blue Ridge, GA.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 12:00 noon from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: John Weaver, Paul Gibbs, Anthony Messer, Daniel Crawford, Ken White and Scottie Messer. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Kendall, Logan Aaron, Paul McDaniel and Gary Rittenberry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
