Mr. Ronald Edward Chastain, age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Chastain was born in Cherokee County, NC on August 7, 1943 to the late Oscar Cornelius and Imajean McCallister Chastain. Mr. Chastain was employed for 30 years and retired from the Fannin County School System as a Vocational Education Teacher. He was a member of Epworth First Baptist Church and was also a Past Master of McCay Lodge #423 F&AM. Mr. Chastain is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Chastain.He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Chris and Dee Dee Chastain of McCaysville, GA and Stacy and Jenna Chastain also of McCaysville, GA; brother, Bill Chastain of Cleveland, TN; sisters, Doris Mantooth of Cleveland, TN, Marilyn Godfrey of Culberson, NC, and Martha Crowder of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Alex, McKenzie, and Crews Chastain.Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and Min. Butch Jones officiating. Music was by Rev. Doug Simonds. Pallbearers were Mark Chastain, Paul Greene, David Crawford, David Bryson, Todd Dilbeck, and Kerry Hicks.
