Mr. Roger Lincoln Carter, age 73, of Benton, TN passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland, TN. He was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on August 7, 1936 to the late Lincoln and Edna Ballew Carter Clore. Mr. Carter was a retired millwright worker. Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Kathy Carter of the home; sons, Roger Carter, Jr. and wife, Fanny of Hollywood, CA, Robert Carter of Mineral Bluff, GA and Dylan Carter of Benton, TN; daughters, Julie Carter of Chatsworth, GA, Stacy Burgess and husband, Joe of Decatur, TN and Robin McDaniel and husband, Ricky of Benton, TN; brother, Dennis Carter of Salt Lake, UT; sisters, Linda Pulliam and Brenda Hamby both of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Mann and Rev. Roy Clore officiating. Music was by the Caylor Family and Ronnie Crisp. Interment followed in the Salem #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky McDaniel, Harley Carter, Jeremy Golden, Joe Prince, David Carter and R.J. Ballew. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Carter.
