Roberta Yvonne Towle, affectionately known as "Birdie", age 71, of Morganton, GA passed away on July 1, 2023 at her home. She was born on November 19, 1951 in Green Bay, WI, to the late Robert Otto and Ruth J. Tursky Towle. She graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Social Work major and a minor in Psychology in 1973 and then received her Masters in Social Work from Florida State University in 1976. Roberta practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in several capacities during her time in Naples, FL which included the State Department of Juvenile Justice, and Hospice of Naples.

She had a love of music and was the pianist for over 25 years for the Naples Seventh Day Adventist Church. Roberta relocated to Fannin County, GA where she was the Director of Social Services at North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, GA and served as a Therapist for the Highland Rivers Mental Health. Roberta continued her work as a L.C.S.W with Riverstone in Blue Ridge, GA until her retirement. She was a member of the Cherry Log Christian Church where she also served as the pianist. She loved animals and previously volunteered her time with PAWS pet therapy program and served locally with the Humane society in Blue Ridge volunteering at their Thrift Store where proceeds go to care for the animals in their care. Roberta loved to sing and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Marcae Lynn Reeter.

Survivors include her niece, Nicole Towle and spouse, William Gibbs; their children, Carson Towle, Gavin Gibbs and Jaylynn Gibbs; her spouse of many years, Denver Bright; step-son, Jason and wife Krissy Bright; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Tammy Alger; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Cherry Log Christian Church with Rev. Monica Ledford officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Cherry Log, GA. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge online at www.humanesocietyofblueridge.org.
