Robert Lee Worthy, age 81, of Farner went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2025. Robert was born to the late Walter and Ella Taylor Worthy. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Robert served his country in the United States Army. He worked at the Tennessee Copper Company in Copperhill, and later, for the lab at London Mill. Robert was known as an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending his days hunting for squirrel and deer, but especially, bass fishing. For the people who knew him, all could recall the many tales of his fishing trips, and "the one that got away". He loved spending time with his family and friends, and never failed to help anyone he saw in need. Robert had a heart of gold and loved those close to him endlessly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hershal, Jay, and Ed Worthy; infant sister, Joyce Worthy; special cousins, Johnny and Jimmy Worthy; and many close hunting and fishing friends.

Robert is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Ruby Kidd Worthy of the home; son, Dakota (Arianna) Key of Farner; grandson, Robert "Robbie" Key; sisters, Gladys Duggan of Farner, and Jean Raper of Kokomo, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Farner Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Farris Reid officiating. Pallbearers will be Dakota Key, Jeff Ray, Charles Duggan, Shawn Key, Ben Key, and Mason Key. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Duggan, Hoyt Taylor, and L.C. Newman. The family will then meet at the home where his life and memories can be honored.
