Robert "Bobby" Eugene Walker, age 73, of Murphy passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at his residence. Bobby was born on September 15, 1951 in Ducktown to the late Curt Walker and Evelyn Mashburn Walker. He worked for the Tennessee Copper Company, and as an over the road truck driver for the last 10 to 15 years before retirement. Bobby enjoyed his family, squirrel hunting, bear hunting, and fishing. He was a graduate of Hiwassee Dam School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Bobby truly enjoyed all of the little babies, and all of the times the whole family was gathered together.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tara Hooper; great-grandson, Baylor Dalton; and brother-in-law, Dennis King.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy Walker; daughters, Robin (Brian) Bowling, and Toshia (Mikey) Worley; beloved son, Jerome (Tanya) Walker; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and James Murphy and Linda Walker; grandchildren, Joshua (Rochelle) Hooper, Gabriel Bowling, Scarlett (Tyler) Gibson, Megan (Iain) Price, Carrie (Christopher) Dore, Tara Bowling, R.M. (Lyndsey Cross) Worley, and Macy (Jordan Dalton) Worley. Great-grandchildren, Jasper Hooper, Carolina Dore, Hazel Gibson, Houston Bright, Lakelynn Bright, Raeleigh Hooper, Adam Gibson, Adalynn Worley, Winston Hooper, and Clayton Dore.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Jack officiating. Music was provided by Clara Reid and Andrea Bateman. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joshua Hooper, Gabriel Bowling, R.M. Worley, Jordan Dalton, Eli White, Toby Foerst, and Iain Price. Honorary Pallbearers were Rex Sudderth, Kenny Morrow, T.J. Hicks, Carl Self, Tommy Wright, and Eppie Payne. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mr. Walker to help defray the final expenses.
